Election Humor Part II

Today I volunteered in Ryanna's kindergarten class. While I was chatting with the other woman that volunteers, she told me that I had missed the most exciting part of the day.
The kids are keeping daily journals where they record a couple of sentences dealing with whatever they are thinking about and perhaps draw a picture to go with those thoughts. Since the election happened last night, Ryanna's teacher told the class she was going to write about Barack Obama being elected as the new President.
Apparently that's all it took.
One boy said, "My dad says Barack Obama is a trickster!"
Another little boy yelled out, "My dad says he's DUMB!"
So, with that, the teacher decided she would NOT be writing about the election.
The other am kindergarten class was not without their own controversy. When one little boy said that his dad was going to vote for Barack Obama, another little boy became hysterical and burst out with, "He's a baby killer!"
I guess that the passion associated with this election was not reserved to the adults and it has not yet cooled.
Stay tuned for more drama from the kindergarten class...

I love it that kids can be so passionate about things they dont really understand, just because their parents are. It makes me want to really be careful about my passions :)

I was with 2 of my high school girlfriends tonight and they were talking about the same thing. Both have girls in kindergarten and repeated conversations identical to yours!

CRAZY what our kids hear when we think they aren't listening!

I saw two sisters today wearing Obama shirts. I had to wonder what they heard from their classmates...we are in Utah after all. :) At least they could say he won.

That is so funny, most of my students said they were voting for Obama, but one boy said he was voting for John McCain cuz Obama kills babies. Parents need to be more careful I guess...Today he told me that at least Obama wouldn't be president until February cuz his mom was having a baby in January and he didn't want it to be killed....Poor kid...

That's so funny! I didn't think that Jacob even knew who Obama was, but he does. Yesterday we were at Fry's and he while we were checking out we were standing by one of those stuffed animal machines. Inside there was this stuffed doll that was supposed to be Bill Cosby(I think). Jacob saw it and said, "Look Mom! It's Barack Obama!"

Hunter got all excited and came running to the kitchen the other day and said one of the presidents is on tv mom. Its Rock Obama. Apparently he thinks both of them are president.

That's too funny! For a minute
I thought the one kid said he was a bumb.

Four years ago Macey (who was three) ran around saying John Kerry tells lies. Then she switched and threw her support behind him wholeheartedly.

This year she wanted John McCain because Obama would make us pay more taxes, and make us loose the war.

Oops. That's not quite what we said, but that's her story and she's sticking to it.

That is too funny! Too bad you couldn't hear it all firsthand.

Oh that is so true! I subbed in a Kindergarten class the day before the election, and the kids were sprouting off things about the candidates that I knew they heard from their parents. It was too funny!!!

It is amazing what little kids absorb. I was taking my niece to school- she's almost 8 and she was informing me all about Obama's policies and prop 102.. So funny what they absorb and can relay.
