Hallo-Thanks-mas

Yesterday when we were coming home from church, I saw a couple of guys with ladders and tools walking around a neighbor's yard. I thought, "Oh, just finishing up some yard work." After a closer look, I discovered they had been busy, little elves and installed Christmas lights on the house. Christmas lights? Already? THEN...

Today I went on a walk with the kiddos. I've been trying to do that every night to make the time go by more quickly and get a tiny bit of exercise and mostly to enjoy the temperate climate of this time of year. Anyway, walked by the above mentioned house and the Christmas lights were on! Seriously.

Okay, I absolutely love Christmas. It's definitely one of my top two holidays, but it's not even the middle of November yet. I realize the department stores and every other such stores are already bombarding us with Christmas merchandise, but what the heck happened to Thanksgiving?

My poor daughter is so confused she keeps asking me when we're going to celebrate Christmas and I have to constantly remind her that we have to celebrate Thanksgiving first. Then she asks me when we're going to celebrate her birthday (which isn't till April) and I have to remind her it's not for a long time. Yesterday, she told my grandma that she could go trick-or-treating with her. The poor girl has some sort of holiday schizophrenia going on.

I am here once again at my weekly "catch up with Audrey's blog" and it has been a good one to read! First of all, very creative on the pioneer blog about stake conference. Girl, or shall i say, Mother, you ought to write a book! With as much as you read...

I also look forward to jotting down some of those titles of books and reading them as well. I just finished, "For one more day." Excellent and fast reading. Same author of< "The five people you meet in heaven." Mitch Albom.

Tell me more about the Office strike? I am obviously not up to date and I need to know more! I love the office and missed last weeks episode...and can't get much info with no internet...is the office going to be cancelled after just 3 seasons? What about Jim and Pam? Tell me it is not so.

Did you get your milky way out of your hair yet? You still looking posh?

Seriously around here Halloween wasn't even over before I was hearing Christmas music at Michaels. Not to mention all Halloween supplies was gone and out were all of the Christmas trees. CRAZY! We have several neighbors with their lights on too.

Out on one of our walks Isaac noticed lights on a house (daytime and they weren't on) I told him they were probably Halloween lights. . .Nope I noticed them on last night and they are definitely blue and white. Not white and black. . . who was I trying to kid, how many people put BLACK lights up :)

Anika is having the same problem!! She also wants to know when her birthday is and, she wants to have a Halloween theme! So confusing! I also have neighbors with their Christmas lights on. I am all for Christmas but seriously, lets get through Thanksgiving first!

I am one of the guilty ones with Christmas lights on the house already! Dean wanted to put them up before the sub-arctic Eastern Idaho winter sets in and the roof is covered with 4 inches of ice and he is working 60 hour weeks at Best Buy. So they have been up for a few weeks. But, we WILL NOT turn them on until after Thanksgiving.

Haha, I feel like I am on the verge of sinning, and am rationalizing. Its like the story they tell to the youth about just how close to the edge you can get before falling off the cliff. I fear we are teetering on unstable holiday ground.

I have been thinking about the same thing. Matt and I have been driving around and noticing C-mas lights! What? I don't remember in years past so early.

I haven't seen too many lights on here yet, but I probably haven't been paying attention. I was at Michaels tonight trying to find a Thanksgiving craft idea for pre-school. Yea right!!! All I could find was Christmas stuff and a few Thankgiving type things on the end of one isle. It was annoying.

I just had the same conversation with Ryder. He wants us to buy a Christmas tree and fill the house with the decorations he is bombarded with at every store we enter. Oh, and of course, thinks it is high time Santa Claus pays him a visit. Thanksgiving seems forgotten now...especially to the kids. What a big fat crock.

We totally saw the same thing on Sunday, only this house wasn't just lights. It was candy canes (those ugly tacky ones...sorry if you like them) all around their lawn, Three HUGE Christmas blow up figures and who knows what else.

Seriously...when do you get to put up your harvest decorations if you're going to do that? :)

I agree..I HATE when department stores, radio stations, people put up ANYTHING Christmasy before December...I will sometimes tolerate it after Thanksgiving but even that is pushing it for me sometimes. And ask anyone, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas. Of course Jack says that AZ doesn't have a Christmas bc it doesn't get cold out...psh...whatever! :)

Hi, So I think now I'm the stalker...I saw your note on my blog and just loved your blog! I laughed so hard about so much...I can so relate to stake conference, to loving "The Office" to it all! I'm from Las Vegas and Adrienne, Jared, Sean (my hubby) and myself all served in the same mission. :) Funny, I know. Then we were even in a BYU married ward together. Adrienne is so awesome! It's fun to catch up witht the blog. I'm kinda new to it, but it's been great. Sean went to UK here in KY (his hometown), I'm from Vegas, so I'm a west coaster, but have grown to lvoe it here. We just started a real job and phew, it feels good. How about you guys? Where did you go to school, how do you know Adrienne, and how goes being a "widow" now that our hubbys have to be married to their job? :) Oh, PS, I love books too and have read or want to read the ones you listed too! Fun! I just tonight signed up our book club to read "The Alchemist" when it's my month. :) Small World (we read Misfits, this month). Anyway, chau!
