Why is that?

Some girlfriends and I were at the pool with our kids the other day, so of course the conversation turned to shaving and other topics. When I came home to talk to Derek and get his take on the information he just shook his head and wanted to know how in the world we were able to talk openly about all of this stuff. Why is it that women can talk about such topics more openly than men?
Driving around lately I've noticed several vehicles with memorials listed on the back windshields. Things such as: In Memory of Christina and her birth and death dates. Now, I'm not trying to be inconsiderate, but what is the memorialization of? Are you driving safely to honor this individual? Did you buy this particular vehicle in honor of the individual? I guess I just don't get it. I understand tombstones--there's a body under there. But what's the car memorial about?
I was grocery shopping at Walmart last week. I went to the bakery to get the kids some free cookies. While I was waiting, I started watching this old lady look at the cinnamon breads. She opened a package and tore off the corner of a piece of the bread and ate it. She then closed the bread back up and put it back on the shelf and turned to other items. Hello? I told the bakery worker what I'd just seen and she went over and retrieved the bread while the lady was standing right there. Then, I see the bakery manager come out and ask the woman if she'd sampled the bread. The woman just got a big smile on her face and acted pleased that the bakery manager had been so courteous to locate this loaf for her. The lady put it in her cart and continued to shop. You would think that's bad enough, but no, I happened to run into this lady when I was finishing up my shopping in another part of the store. A look into her cart revealed no bread. I hope none of you bought it. Gross and gross. Now I'm going to have something else to be worried about when I shop: Wackos who eat bread and put it back thus exposing me to their crazy genes.

I thought I'd seen it all at Walmart, but that is nuts. Moral of the story: Don't shop at Walmart. Or at least check your bread.

It's funny how differrent women and men are isn't it. Except Levy and I are kind of reversed. I'm shy and reserved, but nothing's off limits for Levy.

I've often wondered about those memorial stickers as well. It always makes me a little sad. It seems like plastering it all over your car would make it difficult to move forward.

Shaving legs...I hate it!! If the stubble didn't drive me crazy after a few days I don't know that I would do it. What a useless way to spend a little chunk of my morning. It's funny how women can talk about pretty much whatever, share stories that are totally embarrassing and still be friends, it's great to be a woman!

Car memorials, weird. It think it's worse when they get a vinyl decal that sort of looks like that person. Or when part of it is peeling off because it has been on the car forever, get rid of it already!

That's disgusting about the woman in Wal-Mart, eeww! Good for you though for making sure that loaf didn't get picked up by someone else...maybe. Or maybe she finished the rest of the loaf off as she was shopping. I try to stick to frozen items and toiletries when I shop at Wal-Mart, it's pretty hard to screw those things up!

The bread thing is so crazy. . . I see it happening more and more though my kids have gone to pick out their treats only to find some opened and then the bag folded over and put back. WHO DOES THAT?
Or there were a few strawberries missing from a container I picked up. The bread thing is going too far!
Men and Women are so different when they communicate! I loved studying it in college. So fun. It's amazing how I know that we are different but I still forget when I am trying to understand my hubby. To me it means that genders really are here for different roles and reasons.

Ok I am seriously disgusted by the bread incident. I honestly never thought a grown woman would behave that way. I guess the picking your items from the back of the shelf really is the way to go.

And yes Women are way more open about everything! I love it though. There's no shame. It's fabulous :)

Probably not exposed to her genes but at least her wicked germs! Yuck! Before we went to Hawaii, I read that 4 out of 5 ADULTS chose to not get out of a swimming pool to pee but rather prefer to urinate in the pool. I wonder if they pee in their bath water? Really gross, too! As I was swimming in the ocean, I wondered how many fish had pee'd in the water...yucky!

YUCK! That's all I have for ya.

(BTW, I have always had the same thoughts about car memorializations, too. Just doesn't make much sense to me.)

So about the Blurb. No the $42 doesn't include shipping. It took about ten days for me to receive it after I completed it. Check out their website. You can play around with the software and create your whole book without paying anything. Then, if you decide you like what you've created, then you order it and they publish it. And yes, you can write all over the pages if you want or just put pictures or whatever!

We push babies out of our vaginas for a roomfull of people to watch. That's how we handle talking about such things; we're adequately prepared against the cause of embarrassment.

Car memorials are weird, no doubt, but they're just plain tasteless around here with their old english gang-style lettering. And the fact that the age of the dead person is always in the 20's. Yikes.

We haven't shopped at Walmart in over a year and a half...and here's just one more reason to add to the already miles-long list of why we don't! Thanks! (Psycho lady!)

What! Who does that? Unfortunately it's not just Wal-Mart. The other day I was buying hot dog buns at Safeway and the first package I picked up only had 7 buns in it. I got all irritated until I realized that the bun company wasn't trying to find a new way to rip me off, although I can't think of a reason to steal just one bun.

Okay, Audrey. That was too hilarious to read. Thanks for the much needed information since I do shop at Walmart. That lady sounds like she is passive aggressive.
