In Case You're Not Fat Enough...

So, I was cruising the aisles of Wal-Mart doing my weekly shopping when I spotted this:
Have any of the rest of you seen or tried this? You're probably all too dedicated in your healthy eating to give it a try, so I offered myself up as a guinea pig for the good of everyone else's waists and thighs.
You probably can't tell exactly what this is, so I'll give you some details. It says, "Just add milk...and shake!" Yes, that's right, we have become so lazy about milkshakes that we don't want to go to the trouble of getting out the blender, ice cream and milk. It's a bit like that invention of the peanut butter and jelly all in the same can. Two jars to open for a pb & j? Too much work!
You even have options. One fill line says, "Creamy thick" and the other says "Xtra thick" (Take note of the incorrect spelling--another tip off that this product is directed at an audience who cares only about phonetics or has decided to join the texting--too many letters to spell correctly--generation.)
Myself, I went with cookies and cream and I wanted it Extra thick. I'll spell it correctly so as not to insult my brilliant audience.
What's inside the mystery can? If you've ever been to a zoo or mall, you've probably spotted them & perhaps even tried them--Dippin' Dots! Yes, apparently if you pour milk over those tiny dots of ice cream and "Shake it like you mean it for 30 seconds" as you're instructed, you can have an instant milkshake.
My complete review is as follows:
Taste: Quite yummy--the cookies & cream anyway. I can't comment on the other flavors.
Satisfation: Well, the quantity isn't big enough for me to consider it completely satisfying. I mean when I need a milkshake, I NEED a milkshake.
Worth the Money: It was $1.82 I think. Quite a rip off if you ask me, but I was curious and perhaps the 30 seconds of shaking burned a few calories before I gorged on ice cream deliciousness.
Problems: Since AZ is so blasted hot--and we're not even in the hot season yet--the dots had frozen into a solid mass by the time I got it the two miles home. I suspected they would need to be separated and took a kitchen knife to them and broke them apart before I dumped in the milk. Otherwise, this could've been quite interesting.

Limited Edition

Do you get so excited when you go to the grocery store and they have a new ice cream flavor that sounds absolutely scrumptious? Then you notice the wording on the package: "Limited Edition" and you think: "Oh my, I better buy up everything they have here, 'cause they are only making so much of this stuff." (Oh by the way, most of the blog entries on my blog will involve comments revolving around food. Get used to it. I can tie almost any subject back to food. It's MY blog and that is my obsession and problem. Good thing I don't drink huh?)

Come on, you know you think this when you see that Dreyer's has their Girl Scouts Thin Mint ice cream out. I can not possibly be the only addict...okay, maybe I am. I honestly don't consume as much ice cream as I did growing up, but you may never know that from how much I talk about it.

Now I'm all about the advertiser letting me know that a good thing is only out there in a limited amount, but when I saw this at Costco I had to feel a little bit deceived.
Now, I do realize that Dreyer's chooses to only make so many quarts of that delicious ice cream, but really--are strawberries soon to be on the endangered fruit list? If they are, let me know, I'll freeze them up! Maybe this is why the Prophet is telling us to keep a year's supply. I always thought I'd see this on hamburger or bacon or some animal product...who knew the first casualty of our time would be the Strawberry?

Me, Ben & Jerry

Are any of you fellow ice cream lovers aware that Ben & Jerry's has released one of the yummiest new flavors I've ever had? Don't be concerned, my first love--Chubby Hubby--is still near and dear to my heart, but my goodness, have you tried their Cinnamon Buns? I tried it at one of their stores for the first time last summer and was very excited. I tried to find it in the grocery store afterward and was unsuccessful until this last, wonderful Tuesday.

Cinnamon Buns as described by the container is: "Caramel Ice Cream with Cinnamon Bun Dough and a Caramel Streusel Swirl." Okay, okay, like Jerry McGuire's wife, "You had me at Cinnamon Bun."

I was also enthused to see on their website they are also offering another new flavor--Creme Brulee which has me intrigued. There are several other flavors as well--Raspberry Chocolate Chunk (which is light!!!!), Peach Cobbler, Mint Chocolate Chunk, etc. etc.

My mom has always been a devotee of their Cherry Garcia which is okay for me. I usually prefer ice cream with something in the title such as, "Chocolate ice cream covered in chocolate sauce, swirled with chunks of chocolate," but that's my own personal addiction. I was wondering, what are your favorite Ben & Jerry flavors?
